Advertising costs are costs of disposal (e.g. marketplace fees, transaction fees or price for the service). Only expenses incurred by the seller directly in connection with the sale transaction can be deducted as income-related expenses, but not expenses incurred in connection with the acquisition.

Tax consultants and auditors would be particularly affected if, for example, triple bookkeeping were to be developed with the help of a blockchain solution for double-entry bookkeeping.

Then each booking also ends up in a global ledger and the transactions between the companies can be traced. It is also conceivable that cryptocurrencies based on blockchain technology, such as Bitcoin, will find their way into business life and thus become relevant for accounting and tax consulting.

Much is still a long way off, but one thing is already becoming clear: With advancing digitalization and growing computing capacities, blockchain solutions will soon be part of everyday life and will also be used in finance and taxation.
